What's your Self Love Language?
Have you ever heard of the 5 love languages? An author by the name of Gary Chapman wrote a book that breaks down the 5 ways most people would like to receive love. This book, in a sense, applies to the way we show and receive love from our significant others, but what if I told you that you can apply this to your Self Love Journey as well? Yup that's right! We each have our own Self Love language as well. Cool Right!
Before we dive into those, let's first discuss what the 5 Love Languages are and how they are shown in a relationship. We have:
Physical Touch
Acts of Service
Receiving Gifts
Quality Time
Words of Affirmation

Now that we have an idea of what these love languages are, let's see how we can show ourselves love.

Words of Affirmation: Of all the love languages this is my second favorite way to show myself love.
Some of the different ways you can practice Words of Affirmation are:
pep-talks
journaling,
positive self-talk
and of course daily affirmations
My favorite is my daily affirmations for sure and I would add expressing gratitude.

Acts of Service: Next we have Acts of Service. This FOR SURE is my number one way that I express love to myself.
Different forms of Service include:
therapy
cleaning
organizing
scheduling
and planners
I'm literally the happiest when I'm doing any of the above mentioned. To me they're all so therapeutic. I'm currently in the process of (at the time of my writing this) labeling my office/craft room and it's literally the BEST!!

Receiving Gifts: I'm pretty sure everyone likes this love language just a bit am I right?!
Different ways you can treat yourself with gifts is by:
buying things that make you happy (crafts, makeup)
taking yourself on a date
buying clothes
investing in yourself *
*This by far is the best way you can show yourself love in my opinion.

Physical Touch: This love language is for anyone who enjoys a little alone time.
Any thing that makes your body feel good and focuses on your health can be counted in this category. Such as:
massages
soft blankets
exercise
yoga
skin care
Can you imagine doing each one of these in one day? You'd be so relaxed!

Quality Time: Good old quality time! There's nothing like spending time alone doing things you love.
Quality time may look like:
meditation
reading
solo dates
beach/park
hobbies/creativity
I advise you to take some time to figure out what your love language is? After you have it figured out don't forget to implement what you learned. I promise it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you'll go on alone.
